Trax does the Trail...Cindy does not

Here is the video for our first Trail Pattern. Trax did great.  I did not.

  2. I have to disagree - you guys both did great. I felt like you always took adequate time to stop, re-evaluate and correct Trax properly, and although that's not always "pretty" when your showing, each time you eventually got through each obstacle the correct way. Like, the sidepassing over the log, if Jingle had started off how Trax had.. I would have NEVER been able to bring him back like you did with Trax. I think that shows a nice level of partnership and communication.

For the first time - i think you guys did great. Next time you'll be a hundred times calmer going into it, and you'll both rock it.

    1. Thanks, I think we will do better next time too. I was not unhappy with our run at all. I just could have died when I dropped the rope! And then I got to the log and forgot which way to go!

  3. I thought you guys did great, too! I agree with Louisa, I loved the way you took your time, made Trax do the obstacle the right way, was able to bring him back to you, and you did not seem to get frustrated.

  4. I think you guys both did great! Holy crap - I felt for you when you dropped the dang rope!! Shit happens though, right? Keeps us humble don't ya know? :) Your Trax has a lotta go doesn't he? You ever try riding those courses without spurs? Just wondering if he'd relax a little more without those...

    1. Ooor, I could just do as my trainer says and keep them off his sides, only using them as a last resort. LOL!

  5. Oh, you know whats funny is when I dropped the rope, I thought "Oh Great now what do I do?" Then I remembered that when teaching him to do this he used to make me drop the rope all the time and I would always make him go and let me pick it up. So then I knew what do.

  6. I just finally got to watch both of your videos. I've been having internet issues.

I think you guys look great. Yeah, his head is up, and yeah, there were a few mistakes, but this was your first show, and on a horse that has some baggage from performing in an arena! You ROCK! Both of you. Trax is trying so hard, but understandably having some anxiety. You too, I'm sure... :) My hat is off to you. What courage, what poise, what patience. I can't wait to compare these videos to what you've accomplished a year from now. Just think, it wasn't that long ago you thought you'd never be able to do a rope gate.

Now I feel like such a loser for not working with my horse today. You're pretty inspiring!

    1. I haven't hardly touched him since that day. Between feeling crappy and the weather, I just haven't been feeling it. So don't feel like a loser, you are doing great with Joseph.
