The Most Exciting News

I have been waiting to post about this until I got some pictures.
Now I have them so here we go.
Please help me welcome into the world my newest grandson little Nikkolas. He was born Thursday evening.

6 pounds 4 oz

Here he is with my son Colton, his dad.
When I got to the hospital Mom, Stefany, was breast feeding him and looked positively radiant. Colton is a proud daddy, while being absolutely terrified!   I didn't get to hold him because I am battling a little bit of a stomach flue and did not want to risk passing it on. I kept my distance from anyone and sterilized my hands before even walking in the room.  She ended up having to have a C-section because her water broke on Wednesday, but the hospital told her she was mistaken and sent her home. On Thursday am she went in for her Dr. appt, and the doctor said, "You have no water, get to the hospital now!"  She had an infection by then so C-section had to happen.  Poor girl was terrified, but came through like a champ.

In horsey news, some irresponsible person (me) left the gate between Danny's pen and the feed barn un chained.  Guess who went in and helped himself to some senior feed and platinum performance? I was pleasantly surprised to see that although he did chow down he could have eaten alot more, so atleast he was smart enough not to gorge himself.  I did spend the evening worrying though and went out and checked on him 2 times during the night. By morning there were 2 fresh piles of manure and he had nice belly sounds each time I went out.  His appetite is good, and he went out and ran around, so big sigh of relief there.

Today Trax and I have another lesson with MK, and it looks like the weather is even going to stay semi-clear for me to get there an home again.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
